Description

Amphibia 3000 Grip is a multi-layer membrane with hydro-active properties, for use in waterproofing and damp-proofing underground reinforced concrete structures.

Usages

  • Amphibia 3000 GRIP is satisfactory for use as a pre-applied Type A waterproofing protection, as defined in BS 8102 : 2009 for the waterproofing on new-build underground structures, and as a damp-proofing membrane for solid floors in accordance with the relevant clauses of CP 102 : 1973.
  • The product can be used externally to provide an effective barrier to the transmission of liquid water where Grade 1 to 3 waterproofing protection is required, as defined in BS 8102 : 2009. The product must not be used for negative side pressure waterproofing applications.
  • Where Grade 3 waterproofing protection is required, the environment must be controlled by use of ventilation, dehumidification and/or air conditioning, as appropriate, to ensure dampness does not occur. See also the Additional information part of this Certificate relating to NHBC Standards 2020.
  • The product is also satisfactory for use as a gas-resistant membrane to restrict the ingress of radon. Installations must be verified in accordance with BS 8485 : 2015.
  • The product must always be fully protected as soon as possible after it is installed prior to backfilling, in accordance with the Certificate holder’s instructions.

Key Factors

Resistance to water and water vapour: The product, including joints, provides an effective barrier to the passage of water under hydrostatic pressure and water vapour from the ground.
Resistance to underground gases: the product will restrict the ingress of radon and contribute to restricting methane and carbon dioxide into the structure.
Resistance to mechanical damage: the product will accept, without damage, the limited foot traffic and loads associated with installation, and will accommodate the minor movements likely to occur under normal service conditions.
Adhesion: the product will form a satisfactory bond with cured concrete.
Durability: the product, when fully protected, under normal service conditions, will provide an effective barrier to the transmission of moisture and will restrict the ingress of radon for the life of the structure in which it is incorporated.
